The 2013 Volkswagen Jetta Turbocharged Hybrid proves that it is possible to use the words “fun” and “hybrid” in the same sentence. The powertrain is based on Volkswagen’s 1.4L direct-injected turbocharged 4 cylinder engine, producing 150 horsepower. Coupled to this is an electric motor which allows the Jetta Turbocharged Hybrid to run in full electric mode at speeds of up to 70 km/h. In times of need, both the electric and turbocharged engines work together to produce 184 lb.ft. of torque.

Channeling this power through a unique, seven-speed transmission, the Jetta Turbocharged Hybrid provides the performance of a sports car, while delivering the fuel economy of a hybrid.
